Anyone can request a list of 10 randomly generated passcodes and their accompanying completion codes. Instructors might do this when developing a course management (CMS) quiz, where the quiz question provides the passcode, and then the answer must match the related completion code. If the student provides the expected completion code, then the quiz question is scored as correct, with the result automatically recorded in the course management system (CMS; e.g., Canvas) gradebook.
To get a list of ten passcodes and their corresponding completion codes, use the modification code 510 (this option does does not affect the completion codes generated). Then complete the game successfully.
Out of the 10,000 possible passcode/completion code combinations, ten will be provided at the end of a successfully completed game (specific to the changes provided).
Include '510' with any other modification codes to get back 10 passcode/completion code sets. Then play the game successfully.
For example, to change the number of trials in a game to 22 and to request the resulting the ten passcode/completion codes, the modification code 022510 would be used.
Thereafter, for the passcode/completion codes to work, the student would have to specify upfront (prior to game play) the modification code 022. This would modify the student's game to have 22 trials. If the user does not change the number of required trials to 22, then the completion code would not work.
The quiz question might state:
"Click on the link provided to play the selected statistical game. Next, click the accommodations button and enter the code '022-4618.' After playing the game successfully, click the 'Completion Code' button. You will be shown a three digit completion code. Enter the completion code as your answer to this quiz question."
The instructor would include a link to the desired statistical game within the quiz question. Note that the code that the student enters includes both the modification code of '022' and the passcode '4618.'
